A Johnsonburg man was arrested after state police found about 60 stamp bags of suspected fentanyl or xylazine, drug paraphernalia, and a controlled pill during a July 12 stop at a Venango County gas station.
Troopers responded to the Co Go station on Emlenton Clintonville Road around 7:23 a.m. for a report of a man acting strangely near a white SUV. Police say they found 41-year-old Matthew Steven Patrick appearing under the influence inside a GMC Terrain. A small glassine bag used for drugs was seen but later went missing; Patrick allegedly admitted it was hidden in a bag of gummy bears. He told police there was “a brick” (about 50 stamp bags) in the car and “a bundle” in his wallet. A search uncovered multiple bags labeled “Red Snow” and “King of Death,” along with drug paraphernalia and a suspected Clonazepam pill.
Patrick faces felony and misdemeanor drug charges, including possession with intent to deliver and DUI. He is being held without bail and has a preliminary hearing set for July 23.
