A 44-year-old Reynoldsville man, Matthew R. Guthridge, faces multiple charges, including felony fleeing and DUI, after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended with his car crashing into a barn.
The incident occurred early on November 22 in Jefferson County when state police tried to stop Guthridge for erratic driving. He allegedly reached speeds over 90 mph, tossed a beer can from the car, and caused significant damage to the barn upon crashing. Guthridge, who showed signs of intoxication, was treated at a hospital and jailed on $25,000 bail.
His hearing is set for December 3.
