A woman from Indiana, 28-year-old, Amber Jones, was sentenced to 2.5 to 5 years in state prison after pleading guilty to Aggravated Assault of a Minor under thirteen.
The child, treated for injuries at hospitals in Indiana and Pittsburgh, showed signs of past abuse. Jones reportedly acted out of frustration with the child’s crying. District Attorney Robert Manzi emphasized that there is no justification for harming a child and praised the police for their thorough investigation. He encouraged stressed parents to seek help from crisis or mental health centers.
