At Wednesday night’s meeting, the Penns Manor School Board joined the growing list of districts rejecting the proposed departure of River Valley School District from the Indiana County Technology Center.
Like other districts before it, the vote was unanimous to approve the resolution denying the departure request and approve hiring Ira Weiss as special counsel for a potential lawsuit that Superintendent Daren Johnston said could be filed at the end of the month. He said that River Valley stated they would satisfy all financial obligations for the ICTC for the 2024-25 school year, but that would add a cost of $62,000 to Penns Manor.
Johnston also said that River Valley has not yet met some of those obligations.
