Before a shooting incident at a rally for former President Donald Trump in Butler, two law enforcement officers stationed at a key post left to investigate a suspicious individual, Thomas Matthew Crooks.
The Associated Press is reporting that PSP Col. Christopher Paris testified that the officers were positioned at a second-floor window in the AGR International Inc. complex but left their post to search for Crooks. This raised questions about whether they could have spotted Crooks as he climbed onto a roof to open fire.
Neither the Butler County District Attorney nor the Secret Service responded to inquiries regarding the officers’ orders to leave their post.
