If you drive an electric vehicle, get ready to pay the state of Pennsylvania 200 dollars more. Lawmakers last week approved a new EV registration fee. The idea is to help make-up for the gas taxes that EV drivers don’t pay.
Starting next year, Pennsylvania residents with an electric vehicle will have to pay the 200 dollar fee. That fee will slide-up to 286 dollars by 2030. State Senator Greg Rothman hopes the fee finds more money for Pennsylvania’s roads and bridges, which he says are among the worst in the country.
