61 year old Charles Edward Lingenfelter, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman during an argument in Summerville. ExploreJeffersonPA.Com reports the incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on June 22.
The woman reported that Lingenfelter struck her and slammed her into a wall during the altercation. When she tried to leave, he allegedly threw her head-first into a post, causing a severe head injury.
Lingenfelter claimed the woman fell accidentally. He was charged with simple assault and harassment and was unable to post $5,000 bail, leading to his detention in Jefferson County Jail.
