The Jefferson County commissioners announced two grants at this week’s meeting.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, a $259,138 multi-modal grant will fund the paving and construction of the Service Center Road. Additionally, a pending federal appropriation of $440,378 through U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson’s office will cover engineering costs for a new 911 Center.
The Spirit adds, Commissioner Scott North praised Economic Development Director Jessica Seary and acknowledged the efforts of state Sen. Cris Dush and state Rep. Brian Smith in securing the grants.
