At last week’s meeting, Punxsutawney borough manager Dr. William Spencer requested permission from the Borough Council to lease a 2024 Ford Explorer for the Public Works Department.
Today’s Punxsutawney Spirit says, the current 2004 vehicle is no longer viable due to a damaged frame. Spencer explained that Ford offers a government lease program that includes a buy-back option to help manage maintenance costs.
The Spirit adds, Council also discussed replacing park benches, obtaining repair quotes for the sally port and pool deck, and approved several hires and employee separations.
