STATE SENATE TO VOTE ON ELIMINATING SUNDAY HUNTING BAN

The Pennsylvania Senate will soon vote on a bill that would eliminate a long-standing ban on Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania.

The ban on Sunday hunting goes back to the 18th century as part of Pennsylvania’s “Blue Laws”. While many of the blue laws were eventually dropped, Sunday hunting was still prohibited in Pennsylvania. In 2018, Act 107 was signed into law that allowed hunting on three Sundays out of the year, including one Sunday during deer season.

Hunters and others though continued to campaign to allow Sunday hunting year-round. This time Senate Bill 67 looks to have Sunday hunting allowed throughout the year.
