Pennsylvania American Water plans to boost water service reliability and fire protection for Punxsutawney residents with a 2,900-foot water main installation.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, part of a $5.7 million project started in 2023, the installation begins to-day along Greenhouse Road in Bell Township, followed by work on Rikers and Williams Roads.
The Spirit adds, crews will operate weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with traffic re-strictions.
Completion is expected by summer, though temporary service interruptions and dis-colored water may occur during construction.
