As the snow started to fall Friday night, Indiana County’s first responders were busy with several incidents within 24 hours.
The first incident was reported around 8:00 PM as Cherryhill and Pine Township fire departments were dispatched to a location on Pine Flats Road for what was classified by Indiana County 911 as an “unknown-type fire.” That was followed by a two-vehicle accident reported on Route 286 East in Glen Campbell Borough at 9:42 PM. Another accident occurred on 286 West in Young Township, around 11 PM.
Then early Saturday morning around 4:30, Clymer Fire Department was called out to assist EMTs at a location on Oak Road in Cherryhill Township. A little over an hour later Indiana fire officials say that a car crossed the center line as it was heading North on 119 near the Route 286 overpass, then hit a guide rail and then went another 25 feet before stopping. The driver was sent to IRMC for evaluation.
