Fire officials say nearly an entire cornfield spanning 35 acres was burned yesterday in a brush fire near Plaza Road in White Township.
The seventh brush fire of the year in Indiana County left several acres of land burned. Indiana County 911 dispatched Indiana, Creekside, Elderton, Aultman, and Homer City firefighters around 2:30 to a fire in a field near 580 Plaza Road, just behind the Walmart shopping plaza. No structures were affected by the fire and no one was hurt.
Crews were on the scene between 45 minutes to an hour.
