Niki Nichols, the new principal at Punxsutawney Area Elementary School, shared her first-year progress report with the school board.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, alongside the new assistant principal, Kelli Richardson, Nichols highlighted positive growth, especially in kindergarten through second grade.
Data showed improvements in both teacher and student performance, with a focus on discipline methods, including a reset room for students needing to calm down before returning to class. School board members appreciated the innovative approaches and agreed to monthly updates from the principals.
