Sandy Township officials and residents discussed the pending consolidation with the City of DuBois.
According to GantNews.Com the consolidation committee’s first meeting is scheduled for Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. in the city’s municipal building. Supervisor Bill Beers proposed a public vote on continuing legal efforts at the Feb. 5 meeting. Concerns were raised about proceeding without a forensic audit and uncertainties surrounding the consolidation, but some acknowledged it as a necessary step set in motion by voters in 2021. The only apparent option for the supervisors is court intervention to pause consolidation.
