A DuBois couple is facing felony charges after their two young children walked to Sheetz because they were hungry.
GantNews.Com reports, 29 year old Ashley Lee Lewis, and 35 year old Arden Carl Barber, have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The incident occurred on August 6 when the children, approximately five and six years old, walked to the store and told employees they were there to get food for their parents. The online reports adds, the children were found partially clothed, and a witness reported seeing them walking alone. Lewis and Barber claimed they were sleeping while the children were downstairs using tablets.
Both parents waived their rights to a preliminary hearing and are currently free on bail.
