A passenger was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash on State Route 209.
The accident occurred last Monday afternoon when according to the State Police, 62 year old, Carolyn A. Coughenour, of Smithfield, became fatigued while driving her Honda CRV. Authorities say the vehicle veered off the highway and hit an embankment. Coughenour suffered minor injuries while her passenger, 64 year old Randy C. Riedmann, of Acme, was seriously injured. Both were transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment. Seat belts were in use at the time of the crash.
The Mahaffey Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the scene.
