Another person in Jefferson County has died of complications from COVID 19, bringing the total to 105.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health posted an update on Health.PA.Gov showing Indiana County has more COVID 19 related fatalities in our area with 194. Clearfield County has 178 people who have died, while Clarion has the fewest with 102 family, friends and residents lost to the virus.
As Pennsylvania continues to see new coronavirus cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, officials continue to encourage unvaccinated residents to get the the shot. While more than 68 percent of state residents 18 and older are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Governor Tom Wolf says the state is not letting up in its efforts to get more people vaccinated. The governor notes the vaccines are safe and free. Meantime, the state Department of Health Wednesday reported nearly 4,600 new cases of COVID-19 in PA along with 97 new related deaths. More than 2,800 state residents are hospitalized for treatment of coronavirus.
