Details have been released about the accident that happened near mile marker 80 along interstate 80 back on September 9th in Brookville of Jefferson County.
Pennsylvania State Police say just before 6 that evening, 51 year old Douglas Boyels of Williamsport was traveling east on I-80 into a construction zone where a backlog of traffic was stopped. Police say he tried to avoid hitting a tractor trailer; however, he collided with the back of it after exiting the roadway.
Boyels and his passenger, Kimberly Boyles, were transported to Penn Highlands Dubois for treatment of injuries.
