Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate decreased slightly from the month of August.
The Department of Labor and Industry reports the August jobless rate stands at 6.4 percent, down one tenth of a percent from the previous month. July’s rate was revised downward one-tenth to 6.5 percent.
A year ago at this time with the economy in the depths of coronavirus-related losses, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate had risen to 9.6 percent.
The biggest gains during August came in Business and Professional Services, tied with the category known as Other Services. Leisure and Hospitality saw the biggest job losses.
