The Pennsylvania Economy League told Brookville Borough council members that although they have done well for the last several years and are in a good position for the near future, deficits and other problems could arise if nothing changes.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, Representatives of the organization, which the borough contracted for strategic management planning review, presented their findings on Tuesday.
Members of Brookville’s PEL team praised the borough’s fiscal management but also noted a few problems that could snowball over the years.
They made recommendations that included implementing more flexibility in taxation and monetizing the borough’s water and sewer resources.
Project lead Patty Moorhead said the deficits seen in the team’s projections, which span the years of 2021 to 2025 will be manageable.
