Brian Amrhein of Anita is up on theft charges.
Reports say State Police in Punxsutawney investigated a theft that happened sometime in late November of last year when the victim reported that some tools were missing out of her late husband’s truck after she asked Amrhein to clean it out. The victim later located some of the tools at a family members residence where Amrhein had some belongings stored.
When interviewed, Amrhein said the victim gave him the power tools and when asked if he had ever stayed at the house, reports say he became defensive and said he did, to care for the dogs while she was at the hospital. The victim interviewed again said she was cleaning out the garage and noticed some new tools were missing from their bags and asked a family member if Amrhein had the tools and they said he did.
A certified summons was issued to Amrhein at the end of August, and he has a preliminary hearing November 8th with Judge Mizerock.
