
A Commodore man died due to injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash Friday night in Green Township.
Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman, Jr. identified the victim as 71-year-old John D. Hoover of Route 240 in Commodore. According to the coroner’s report, Hoover’s motorcycle hit a deer as Hoover was riding on Route 240 around 8:15 PM.
Hoover was treated on-scene and transported to Indiana Regional Medical Center’s Emergency department, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at 9:47 PM. Hoover’s death was ruled accidental due to blunt force trauma to the head, chest and abdomen. State Police, Citizens’ Ambulance and the Commodore Fire Department assisted at the scene.
