A 22-year-old DuBois man faces numerous charges after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase in Jefferson County on March 10.
According to ExploreJeffersonPa.Com, Robert David Wertman is accused of fleeing at speeds exceeding 75 mph, driving recklessly, and attempting to evade a traffic stop before troopers used a Precision Immobilization Technique to stop his vehicle. Police said Wertman later admitted he fled due to active warrants and drug paraphernalia in the car, and told officers he had used methamphetamine earlier that day.
Wertman is charged with felony fleeing, DUI, and multiple related offenses, and remains in the Jefferson County Jail on $5,000 bail pending a preliminary hearing March 31.
