A Clearfield County woman is facing charges after police say she made a false 911 report claiming an inmate had escaped from the county jail and was threatening former Vice President Kamala Harris.
WTAJ News reports, authorities determined the allegations were unfounded, and District Attorney Ryan Sayers warned that such calls force emergency dispatchers to treat them as real, diverting police, fire and EMS from legitimate emergencies.
Officials emphasized that while the charges highlight the seriousness of false reports, residents should continue to call 911 when genuine emergencies occur.
