In the second round of the PIAA Basketball Championships, several teams advanced with decisive victories.
In boys Class 2A action, United defeated Clarion 53–39, Sewickley Academy rolled past Port Allegany 76–29, and Mercyhurst Prep edged Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 46–45 in overtime.
On the girls side in Class 1A, Williamsburg cruised to a 57–28 win over Elk County Catholic, Bishop Carroll topped Farrell 53–44, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy dominated Clarion-Limestone 70–37.
