A Sligo man is jailed on felony charges after state police say he choked a woman and poured kerosene on her during a domestic altercation in Clarion County.
Timothy Leroy Potter, 54, was charged with felony strangulation, simple assault and harassment following an incident early Feb. 4 at a residence in Piney Township, according to court documents. The woman reported being unable to breathe while Potter choked her and said he later struck her in the head and poured kerosene on her while she was on the ground. Troopers observed injuries consistent with a struggle, and medical records showed the woman was diagnosed with a concussion.
Potter was arraigned Feb. 7 and committed to the Clarion County Jail after failing to post $10,000 bail; a preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 17.
