The Derrick Publishing Company is set to shut down after a planned sale collapsed, ending more than a century of print journalism in northwest Pennsylvania.
According to ExploreClarion.Com, the final print editions of The Derrick and The News-Herald are scheduled for March 20, while The Clarion News will publish its last print issue on Feb. 26, according to sources with direct knowledge of the decision.
Founded as early as 1840, the newspapers have served their communities for generations, but no official statement has been released and details about employee layoffs or the future of digital operations have not been announced.
