A residential structure fire resulted in a total loss Wednesday afternoon after a chimney fire quickly spread through a local home.
According to WTAJ News, the Dubois Fire Department responded to the scene at approximately 12:15 p.m., where arriving officers reported the building was already 50% involved. A second alarm was immediately struck to combat the intensifying flames. Authorities confirmed the residence was unoccupied at the time of the blaze, and no injuries were reported despite freezing temperatures that created hazardous icing conditions for responding crews.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.
