A Jefferson County man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after state police say he drove under the influence of marijuana while transporting Amish passengers, including two unrestrained children.
Authorities allege 58-year-old Patrick Allen Reitz Jr. was stopped Jan. 2 after failing to stop at a stop sign and attempting to accelerate away, and officers later detected marijuana, drug paraphernalia and signs of impairment.
Police said blood testing confirmed THC in his system. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 10.
