A Clearfield County man was arrested Monday after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Cambria County and leading state police on a pursuit that ended in Clearfield County, authorities said.
Pennsylvania State Police charged Hayden David Hoyt, 26, of Burnside Township, with multiple felony and misdemeanor offenses after troopers used a PIT maneuver to stop the stolen SUV following a chase on snow- and ice-covered roads. Police said the vehicle contained the victim’s dog and a firearm, both of which were recovered, and that Hoyt was found in possession of a handgun and suspected methamphetamine.
Hoyt was arraigned and remanded to Cambria County Prison, with a preliminary hearing scheduled Jan. 20.
