A Philadelphia man is facing new felony charges in Jefferson County after authorities say he took thousands of dollars for a garage project that was never completed.
According to ExploreJeffersonPa.Com, State police allege 34-year-old Scott David Miller accepted a $17,000 advance payment last summer to build a steel garage in Bell Township but performed no work and did not return the money. Investigators say Miller, acting as a subcontractor, cashed the check shortly after receiving it.
Miller is charged with multiple felonies, including theft by deception and home improvement fraud, and faces similar allegations in a separate Jefferson County case involving a different garage project. Preliminary hearing dates have not yet been scheduled.
