The Brookville Borough Council voted to advertise its 2026 budget for public review, which include a 1.35-mill property tax increase to balance rising costs, according to The Punxsutawney Spirit.
Total general fund revenues and expenditures are both projected at $3.17 million, up from about $2.97 million in 2025.
Council members said part of the tax hike will support the local fire department and library, with about $5 per month added per household.
