Federal prosecutors may seek to remove former Clearfield County District Attorney Bill Shaw from the defense team of former DuBois City Manager Herm Suplizio, citing potential conflicts of interest.
According to WJAC, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said during an Oct. 22 status hearing that Shaw could be called to testify because he recorded a closed-door DuBois City Council meeting and also represents a Department of Justice witness in a separate civil case.
Suplizio and former city staffer Roberta Shaffer are accused of misusing more than $1 million in city funds, with the judge aiming to begin the trial by late spring or early summer.
