A Clearfield County man convicted of conspiring to kill a woman with a homemade explosive is asking a judge to overturn his verdict or grant him a new trial.
In a handwritten motion filed Wednesday in federal court, Kris Nevling maintains his innocence and argues he wasn’t properly represented at trial. Nevling was convicted last month of conspiracy to maliciously destroy property with explosives and possession of an unregistered destructive device in connection with the 2019 death of Shanna Carlson.
His alleged accomplice, Clint Addleman, has yet to stand trial. Nevling’s sentencing is set for late January.
