One sportsbook lists Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin with 28/1 odds of being the first NFL coach fired this season — 11th-highest in the league.
The odds are slim, and history makes such a move highly unlikely. Pittsburgh hasn’t dismissed a head coach midseason since the 1960s, and Tomlin’s contract runs through 2027, making him one of the league’s highest-paid coaches.
While the Steelers haven’t won a playoff game since 2017, owner Art Rooney II has repeatedly voiced confidence in Tomlin, praising his leadership and ability to connect with players.
