A Brookville man is facing multiple charges after allegedly firing a shotgun from his East Main Street porch, misleading police, and resisting arrest on August 5.
Police say 34-year-old Sebastian James McCredie was intoxicated when he fired into nearby woods, then claimed the shots came from elsewhere. Officers found spent shells at the scene, live shells in his pocket, and a pocketknife. A witness told police McCredie hid the gun before officers arrived.
McCredie was arraigned August 6 and is being held in Jefferson County Jail on $40,000 bail, with a preliminary hearing set for August 12.
