Edith “Edie” May Snyder, 74, of Punxsutawney, passed away on July 21, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Darl Allen Lowmaster and Elizabeth Laura (Bolvin) Lowmaster.
Ms. Snyder was a devoted and faithful member of the New Beginnings Church in Walston.
“Edie” was never happier than when she hosted holiday dinners for her family over the years. She loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, their laughter filling her heart with joy. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and the love she poured into her family.
Every Saturday, she looked forward to lunch with her sisters, it was a cherished tradition filled with love, laughter and shared memories. She treasured the bond they shared with them.
In her down time, she loved being with her dog “Thor.” His company brought her a lot of joy and companionship.
She is survived by two children, Scott (Sheri) Weaver of Vowinckel and Sherri Weaver of DuBois; seven grandchildren, Lakin, Steven, Darren, R.J., Kayla, Keeven, Kaleb; twelve great-grandchildren, Issac, Jaylynn, Maddie, Konner, Crue, Enrique, Javontae, Gabby, Aurora, Mason, Vanessa and Kinslee; two brothers, William (Arlene) Lowmaster of Punxsutawney and John (Mary) Lowmaster of Indiana; three sisters, Patricia Duttry, Karen “Kay” Neal and Betty Lowmaster all of Punxsutawney; her former spouse and close friend, Duane Weaver of Cooksburg.
Preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Tammy McGee; four brothers, Richard A. Lowmaster, Darl Jay “Joe” Lowmaster, Donald Charles Lowmaster and Bernard “Ben” Lowmaster; two brother in-laws, Robert Duttry and Donald Neal; niece Nicole “Nikki” Duttry.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025, at New Beginnings Church, officiated by Pastor Deven Wintermeyer.
