One person is dead and another injured following a two-vehicle crash Friday evening in Jefferson County.
The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Route 36 and caused an explosion that trapped occupants inside one of the vehicles, according to the Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that 69-year-old Mary Wright was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was taken to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment.
