DRINKING WATER BAN DOWNGRADED TO BOIL WATER ADVISORY IN RIMERSBURG

A drinking water ban in the Rimersburg area was downgraded to a boil water advisory Saturday night after sodium bisulfite was identified as the contaminant.

Residents must boil tap water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, or cleaning. The advisory affects customers of the Rimersburg Borough Municipal Authority and East Brady Borough Water System.

There’s no timeline yet for when it will be lifted.
