A Marienville man crashed his car into a vacant house in Indiana County after failing to navigate a curve, Pennsylvania State Police reported.
The incident occurred around 4:29 p.m. on June 12 along Sportsman Club Road, approximately 1,440 feet south of Boyer Boulevard. Troopers said 31-year-old Cody A. Kirkwood was driving north in a 2014 Ford Focus when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve. His vehicle left the roadway, traveled through a grassy area, and struck a stone culvert. After hitting the culvert, the car continued across a driveway and through a yard before crashing head-on into an unoccupied home.
Police described the damage to the house as moderate. The vehicle came to rest against the south side of the residence, still facing north.
Kirkwood, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries but declined medical transport. Citizens’ Ambulance Service, along with volunteers from the Elderton and Iselin/West Lebanon fire departments, responded to the scene. The vehicle was towed by Martin Diesel.
