The Jefferson County commissioners unanimously approved a $550,000 bid from Bell Tower Corporation, Inc. of Chelsea, Oklahoma, to construct a new Snyder Hill radio tower.
Funded by a state Local Share Account Grant, the project will replace an aging, limited-capacity guided tower with a self-supporting structure. According to Emergency Services Director Tracy Zents, the new tower will improve radio communication for first responders in the county’s southern region by offering greater coverage and capacity for future expansion.
