A 29-year-old Clarion woman, Katlyn Chevon O’Laughlin, is facing assault charges after allegedly hitting her fiancé during a domestic dispute on May 4 while their children were present.
Police responded to the East Main Street residence after the man reported the assault and concern for his children. He had visible facial injuries. O’Laughlin initially refused to answer the door but was eventually arrested.
Three children were found in the home and turned over to family with help from Children and Youth Services.
O’Laughlin admitted to striking her fiancé after both had been drinking. She is charged with simple assault and harassment, and was briefly jailed before posting bail. A new preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 27.
