State police confirmed that two people and an unborn child were killed, and one person was hurt in a crash on Warren Road in Center Township Saturday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2:55 PM, just 200 feet east of King Hill Road. Troopers say a 2017 GMC SUV was speeding east on Warren Road and crossed the center line as it was trying to negotiate a right curve. It hit a 2009 Ford Focus going west and then crashed head-on with a 2013 Toyota Corolla, which was right behind the Ford, before hitting an embankment and overturning.
The driver of the SUV, 57-year-old Daniel L. Ryan of Indiana, and the driver of the Toyota, 34-year-old Nathan Blystone of Kent, were pronounced dead at the scene. 31-year-old Denton L. Shively of Indiana was driving the Ford and was not hurt. While 33-year-old Ashley Layton of Kent, a passenger in Blystone’s vehicle, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, her unborn child was also pronounced dead.
