Local officials are warning residents of potential safety risks associated with injectable diabetes and obesity medications.
Officials with the Indiana County Sheriff’s Office relayed a message from the FDA warning the public to purchase fake or compounded medications online, as they can be dangerous. Knock-off versions of these medications are widely available across the nation, and they are either counterfeit, non-sterile, or incorrectly compounded.
Because of this, Sheriff’s office officials remind residents that they should only use them if they are prescribed by a physician and sold at a licensed pharmacy.
