The DuBois City Council held the first of two public hearings to discuss how the city will use over $306,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
The Courier Express says the hearing allowed residents and organizations to provide input on local needs, including community development, housing, and public services. At least 70% of the funds must benefit low- to moderate-income individuals.
The city will determine specific projects after gathering input from the community. A second hearing is scheduled for September 23.
