The Sykesville Borough Council discussed the increased costs for the borough building roof repair.
According to The Punxsutawney Spirit, the council agreed to use remaining COVID-19 relief funds and split the remaining costs between various budgets. They approved the extra expenses to fix the borough building roof, as it’s necessary before addressing the deteriorating library ceiling.
In other business, the council approved road closures for the Sykesville Block Party on Sept. 7, from 1 to 9 p.m. The event will feature a band, a bike parade, and kids’ games, organized by the Sykesville Civic Improvement Association at the park.
