On Tuesday, DuBois resident, 22 year old David Joseph Smith, pleaded guilty to charges of felony robbery and misdemeanor assault during sentencing court, resulting in six months to a year in county jail with five years of probation, a fine of $600, and restitution payment of over $998.
GantNews.Com reports Smith’s charges stem from an incident on October 12, 2019, where he blocked a driver’s car before assaulting and robbing him of his phone, which he then shot several times before fleeing.
In a separate case for driving under the influence, Smith received a concurrent sentence of 72 hours to six months in jail.
