A man from Punxsutawney is in the Jefferson County prison and facing charges for allegedly attacking, strangling and threatening to shoot a woman for not fixing a car.
According to WJAC News, 42-year-old Rickie Mekeal exited a residence with a pistol and fired a shot into the woods when state police arrived in Perry Township of Jefferson County. The published reports says he was taken into custody after dropping the gun.
The victim reported that earlier Mekeal had left looking for car parts and returned irate when he couldn’t find them, and the car still wasn’t fixed. He reportedly pushed the woman to the ground and began kicking and punching her, grabbed a pistol and allegedly aimed the barrel of the gun at the woman and threatened to kill her.
