As of 8 o’clock this morning all non-essential businesses are closed until further notice.
Those who fail to comply could face fines and even jail time.
The order issued on Thursday was originally set to take effect at midnight on Friday, but was extended in order to give affected businesses the opportunity to appeal the ruling.
